Rachel Mangold hand-builds playful objects and vessels from clay, in the fluid shapes of animals that echo the aesthetics of the artist's home and studio. Mangold is interested in exploring personal wondering spaces and vulnerability through the joy of connecting to the natural world through objects.

Mangold (b.1975 Omaha, NE) grew up in Oklahoma and relocated to Southern California after earning a B.F.A. in sculpture from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. The mid-west landscape and its fauna continue to influence her work and ideas, as does the contrast to the coastal biodiversity where she now resides. Mangold has exhibited her work at the Long Beach Museum of Art, Craft Contemporary Museum, and South Bay Contemporary Gallery (SOLA). She lives and works in Long Beach, CA.
